AGM Statement

Vianet Group plc (AIM:VNET), the leading provider of real time monitoring systems and data management services for the leisure, vending, and forecourt services sectors, will be holding its Annual General Meeting today at 09:00hrs at the Group's offices, One Surtees Way, Surtees Business Park, Stockton on Tees, TS18 3HR.

James Dickson, Executive Chairman, will provide the following trading update at today's meeting:

"As expected, the first quarter of the current year has started slowly but the Group continues to make good operational progress across its business areas and in various geographic markets. Accordingly, there are good reasons to be optimistic on the medium to long term prospects for the Group's key areas of focus and, in the short term there is also the continued prospect of the  loss-making areas moving past breakeven. We look forward to updating shareholders on further progress in due course.

"The Board remains conscious of the uncertainty surrounding the Government's proposed Statutory Code for Pub Companies and the adverse impact the proposals for controlling beer flow monitoring contained within the Code might have on our business.  Our response to the consultation has been submitted, the Group's leadership team is now actively engaged with MPs and other stakeholders and is pleased to be receiving a good response at this stage.  Whilst it is a very unwelcome distraction, we are optimistic that the reasoned, evidence-based strength of our argument will result in a positive outcome.

"Whilst 2013/14 may be another challenging year, in balancing aspects of our short term caution with our longer term optimism, we would draw attention to the continued strong cash generation of the Group and the recent decision by the Board to maintain the final dividend for 2012/13."
