Vesuvius PLC - Transactions in Own Shares

Vesuvius plc announces that on 25 July 2013 it purchased from Bank of America Merrill Lynch 115,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 411.5859 pence per share. The purchased shares will be held as treasury shares. The shares were purchased pursuant to the Company's share buy-back programme announced on 27 March 2013 and in accordance with the authority granted by shareholders at the Company's Annual General Meeting on 4 June 2013.

Following the above purchase, Vesuvius plc holds 4,674,902 ordinary shares in treasury, and has 273,810,169 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
