OTOC is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary OTOC Australia has received an extension of engagement for provision of materials and labour for construction of the Nauru Processing Centre from Canstruct Pty Ltd. The variations awarded are for a total of $16.2 million and are in addition to the contract announced previously for $28.7 million (see ASX release dated 23 May 2013).
Canstruct has approved a variation of $10.5 million under the existing contract for labour and material for the Nauru Processing Centre. Combined with the previously announced contract for $28.7 million, this variation increases OTOC’s share of construction and infrastructure related work at the Nauru Processing Centre to $39.2 million.
In addition, Canstruct has awarded variations that increase OTOC’s scope of work to include communications and the installation of fire and security systems, for a total of $5.7 million. This is the first piece of government related work to be carried out by OTOC’s newly formed Remote Communications Division.
All of the awarded work is expected to be carried out in this financial year, providing OTOC with a strong order book for FY2014.
Mr Adam Lamond, CEO of OTOC, commented : “We are delighted to announce the award of further work from Canstruct which demonstrates OTOC’s execution capability in remote location infrastructure and highlights the high level of ongoing work and opportunities at Nauru. We are particularly pleased to secure a significant contract for the OTOC Communications Division. OTOC identified this part of the business as a growth area in remote infrastructure and we see this division generating strong growth in coming years”.
