New contract signed with the city of Amdjarass, Chad
Installation of a 100%-renewable energy system

Vergnet (FR0004155240 - ALVER) today announces the signing of a new contract for the design, provision, installation and commissioning of a grid-forming system using highcapacity energy storage that will provide 100%-renewable energy to the city of Amdjarass in eastern Chad.
The project, a first in Africa, will make Amdjarass energy-independent thanks to a powerful and efficient technology that enables energy to be delivered at a lower cost.
The new contract follows an initial phase, delivered to the Chadian government in February 2016, that dealt with the provision and installation of four wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 1.1 MW.
The wind farm uses Vergnet's Hybrid WizardTM solution, which monitors the electricity grid and sends instructions to the entire production and storage system, optimising it in real time. As a result, high-quality energy can be provided without interruption.
The second phase represents a value of over €8 million.
This new project demonstrates the company's ability to expand its scope of activity, offering the installation of innovative energy solutions in regions with significant barriers to operation.
