Leipzig/Zörbig, February 9, 2010: VERBIO Vereinigte BioEnergie AG (VERBIO)
sold eight of its total fifteen wind mills. Besides the own wind mills,
VERBIO operates 51 leased ones, whereof the leasing contracts for 23 wind
mills expired with the turn of the year 2009/2010.

In 2008, VERBIO achieved revenues from the feed-in of generated electricity
by wind mills in the amount of EUR 20.1 million and an EBIT of EUR 0.9
million. As of September 30, 2009 revenues stood at EUR 12.2 million
(30.09.2008: EUR 14.2 million) and in the same period EBIT amounted to EUR
0.2 million (30.09.2008: EUR 0.5 million). With the sale of five wind mills
in the fourth quarter 2009, VERBIO achieved earnings of EUR 2.2 million.
Tree further plants have been sold in January 2010 generating profit of EUR
0.5 million.

'The operation of wind parks does not belong to VERBIO's core business.
Because of the fact, that the interest of investors to get involved in the
renewable energies market, especially in the wind sector, is very high at
the moment, we take advantage of this favourable situation to sell our own
plants.', said Claus Sauter, CEO of the VERBIO AG.
