Saint-Gobain Oberland AG: Restructuring of the business unit production facilities via Management-Buy-Out

Bad Wurzach, October 23rd, 2015 – The container glass producer Saint-Gobain Oberland AG, known under the brand name Verallia, is reorganizing its business unit production facilities. Effective January 1st, 2016, GPS Glasproduktions-Service GmbH will become independent via Management-Buy-Out (MBO).
The current General Manager Rolf Themann is taking over the responsibility for the medium-sized company. He was able to convince high performance and long-term-oriented private investors with business background.
Saint-Gobain Oberland AG is selling this business unit, so that the experts of GPS could respond with more flexibility and with an even higher innovative approach to the needs and requirements of international container glass producers. Both companies – Saint-Gobain Oberland AG and GPS – will also have a strategic corporation in future.
The business unit production facilities represented 3,6 % of the turnover of Saint-Gobain Oberland AG.
The purchase price was not disclosed.
Since 90 years, GPS Glasproduktions-Service GmbH is developing and producing IS-Machines and components for the container glass production worldwide. The strategic objective remains: IS-Machines, Spare-parts, Services.
