of Saint-Gobain Oberland AG
by March 31, 2008

Glass packaging still trendy

The economic development in Germany in general as well as especially in the
container glass market further presents itself positively in the first
quarter of 2008. There is a similar tendency for Eastern Europe. The
production capacities of the Saint-Gobain Oberland Group are still working
to full capacity.

Increase of volume and yield

As a consequence of the high demand for glass, the Saint-Gobain Oberland
Group could increase their volumes both for the German companies as well as
for the Eastern European subsidiaries by approximately 14 % upon totally
122,3 Mio. EUR in the first three months of 2008 compared to the
corresponding previous year period.

The operating profit also rose despite the impact caused by higher costs
for energy, raw materials and cullet.

As a result hereof as well as of low investments, the cashflow improved
compared to the previous year.

Stable number of employees

The number of employees compared to the 31.12.2007 is only slightly
regressive. The reduction from 3.412 to 3.376 employees took place within
the scope of the natural fluctuation.

Forecast 2008

For the further course of this year, the Board of Directors of Saint-Gobain
Oberland AG further expects a positive business development. There are no
risks for the continuity of the company.
