Veidekke ASA: To assist City of Stockholm with transformation of Stadshagen
Veidekke has signed an agreement with the City of Stockholm for the first stage
of the development and refurbishment of Stadshagen on Kungsholmen in Stockholm.
The project is an execution contract valued at approx. SEK 208 million and is
scheduled for completion in spring 2026.
Veidekke's assignment includes construction work at Mariedalsparken, including
walls, playgrounds, plantings and stormwater facilities. Where St: Göransgatan
intersects with Mariedalsvägen, a new square will be built above the underlying
subway hall.
"We appreciate having the trust of the City of Stockholm, and look forward to
contributing to the city's green future," says Anders Bergsten, construction
manager at Veidekke Anläggning Öst.
The transformation will result in a denser and better integration of Stadshagen
with the city. There will be new parks and squares, new walkways going south
-west and north-east, and a footpath to Karlbergssjön. Existing park and nature
areas will be upgraded, and new parks and squares will be constructed. Parks,
playgrounds and walking paths as well as the Stadshagsklippan nature area will
be connected in a continuous green loop.
For more about the development, see this City of Stockholm
website (https://vaxer.stockholm/stadshagen-utvecklas).
