Veidekke ASA: Selected to build nursing home in Moelv

It was finally announced today that Ringsaker municipality is able to sign the

contract with Veidekke for the construction of a new nursing home in Moelv that

will achieve the Passivhaus Standard. The commission is a design and build

contract with a value of NOK 250 million, excluding VAT.

The new Moelv Nursing Home will provide 60 nursing home places, a day centre, a

canteen, sensory gardens and plentiful communal spaces. Energy wells have been

selected to provide heating and cooling for the facility, while there will also

be extensive use of wood both internally and externally to complement the use of

environmentally-friendly concrete in the project. The total usable area will

amount to 6,200 m[2] spread over three storeys, and the building will be

connected to the Moelv Residential and Activity Centre.

Preparatory works will begin in January while groundworks are scheduled to

commence in March. Construction work begin in May, with planned completion by

the end of 2023.
