Veidekke ASA: Signed contract for health building in Verdal

Today Veidekke has entered into a contract with Verdal municipality to build a

living and treatment centre with 132 institutional spaces in the centre of

Verdal. The project will be environmentally certified and ready for occupation

in December 2021. The contract is a design and build contract valued at NOK 387

million excluding VAT and will be carried out as a working partnership with

subsidiary Grande Entreprenør in Verdal.

Verdal living and treatment centre. This will be an important building for the

municipality's residents, where many users, employees and services will be

affected. It is especially useful that we and our partners have been a part of

the project from an early stage. Broad involvement yields better solutions,

predictability and greater ownership in the project from all parties," says

district manager Ståle Brovold of Veidekke Bygg Trøndelag.

Veidekke won the competition for the collaborative contract in February, and

since then they have developed the project in close cooperation with Verdal

municipality, representatives of the users of the building, consultants,

architects and technical contractors. User participation meetings have been

conducted in areas such as welfare technology, music and health, culture,

hairdresser, pedicure, funeral agent and renovation.

The new living and treatment centre will have 96 long-term places and 36 short

-term places, activity and service functions and a production kitchen. The

building will have a total area of approx. 12,000 m2across three storeys, and

will be the first in northern Trøndelag that will be environmentally certified

in accordance with BREEAM-NOR Very Good. Construction work will be carried out

by Veidekke and Grande Entreprenør along with other local partners.

Detailed design starts immediately, while construction work will start in

December with completion scheduled for December 2021. More information on the
