Veidekke ASA: To extend shopping centre in Harstad

Veidekke' subsidiary Block Berge Bygg AS has been handed the contract by Coop

Nords subsidiary Verkstedveien Eiendom to extend Sjøkanten Senter in Harstad

with 19,600 m(2) of retail space and a new parking facility of 7,400 m(2 )in

size. This contract is valued at NOK 163 million, excluding VAT.

Retail space in Sjøkanten Senter will be extended by almost 20,000 m² over two

floors. Block Berge Bygg will deliver a closed framework with lifts and

escalators and a new three-storey parking facility. Verkstedveien Eiendom is

also rehabilitating the existing centre in connection with the extension, so

that the centre will emerge as uniform, modern and future-oriented.

The framework from Block Berge Bygg will be supplied with prefabricated floors

on ground and concrete elements in its entirety. The façades will be in black,

polished larvikite and white chiselled concrete. The selected building system is

very advantageous in terms of energy, impermeability and not least construction

time.
