Veidekke and Kjeldsberg to build 12,000 m2 office building in Trondheim

Veidekke and Kjeldsberg to build 12,000 m2 office building in Trondheim

Veidekke Eiendom AS and R. Kjeldsberg AS have decided to

start construction of Lysgården, a new office building at

Sluppen in Trondheim. The building is already 70% leased,

and will convene Veidekke's operations in Trondheim, among

other things.

In recent years Veidekke has seen strong growth in

activities in Trondheim. There has therefore been a desire

to gather all operations in new regional headquarters with

both contracting, property and industrial operations in the

region. In addition to Veidekke, the building is also leased

to Sweco. The current lease ratio is 70%. The building is

scheduled for completion in May 2019.

Lysgården will be one of Trondheim's most distinct buildings

with architecture designed to engage and enthuse, where

efficient office spaces are organized around an internal

atrium. Light in combination with glass is key to the

building, which will be a natural focal point for everyone

driving on the E6 road. The building will have BREEAM

Excellent environmental certification with energy

consumption of around 40 kWh/m2, significantly lower than

requirements to passive houses.

-"Veidekke and Kjeldsberg are both large and long-

established businesses in Trondheim, and Lysgården aims to

set the standard for office buildings of the future, says

regional director of Veidekke Eiendom, Pål Aglen.

-"Sluppen's location at Trondheim's geographical centre will

allow many of the users to cycle to work. The building will

therefore include indoor bicycle parking for around 200

employees, which is an important contribution to reduce

greenhouse gas emissions," says Ole Petter Bjørseth with R.

Kjeldsberg AS.

Sluppen is one of the most central new growth areas in

Trondheim, located at the start of the so-called Knowledge

Axis, and houses many of the city's leading technology

communities.
