Veidekke: New road maintenance contracts worth NOK 2 billion

Veidekke: New road maintenance contracts worth NOK 2 billion

In the course of the first six months of the year, Veidekke has entered into

three new contracts for the operation and maintenance of national and county

roads. In addition, options have been redeemed for the extension of four ongoing

contracts. The total contract value is NOK 1.950 billion excluding VAT.

"We're pleased with the results of this year's tender round and are looking

forward to taking over responsibility in the new contracts from September. In

addition, we are very pleased to have been given renewed trust in four of our

ongoing contracts that were nearing the end," says director Kjell Otto Bragstad

with Veidekke Road Maintenance.

New contracts from September 1:

Client Area Duration

Norwegian Public Roads Administration Trøndelag north 2025 - 2030

Troms County Council Mid-Troms 2025 - 2030

Troms County Council Inner Troms 2025 - 2030

In addition, Møre og Romsdal, Vestland and Trøndelag county municipalities have

chosen to use options to extend four previously concluded contracts.

Veidekke will thus be responsible for the operation and maintenance of around

13,000 kilometres of national and county roads, including pedestrian and cycle

paths. Annual revenue from this part of Veidekke's business amounts to around

NOK 2 billion excl. VAT.

"Together with our clients and local partners, we will do what we can to ensure

that road users experience good and safe driving conditions - summer and winter

- in our 24 contract areas from Finnmark in the north to Agder in the south,"

Bragstad concludes.

The contracts include routine operational tasks and minor maintenance tasks on

the road network to ensure safe and efficient traffic and maintain the roads to

ensure the desired service life. The key tasks are clearing, gritting, salting,

tunnel and sign cleaning, maintaining landscape areas, clearing ditches and

drains, cleaning roads and rest areas and emergency preparedness in the event of

accidents and extreme weather conditions.

Of the new contracts and redeemed options, NOK 950 million was included in

Veidekke's order book in the first quarter and NOK 1 billion will be included

the second quarter of 2025.
