Veidekke ASA: Wins new contracts at Oslo Airport

Veidekke ASA: Wins new contracts at Oslo Airport

Veidekke Entreprenør has in the past few days signed two new contracts for Oslo

Lufthavn AS with a total value of NOK 293 million excluding VAT. One of the

contracts is for the construction of a road and bridge at the main terminal,

while the other concerns work in connection with building a new taxiway and the

extension of another.

The largest contract is for NOK 200 million for a 120 metre extension of the

bridge outside the main terminal at OSL, along the façade of the new west

central building. A new ramp from the lower level and a new bridge from the

upper level will connect the new road system to the existing bridge across the

railway to the south. Work starts in April 2014, and is to be completed in July

The other contract is valued at NOK 93 million for building and construction

work in connection with extending the Tango taxiway and construction of the new

Bravo taxiway. The contract also includes building an entrance to a new

Norwegian hangar. Works starts early April, to be completed already in October

"It is a definite advantage to bring in contractors who have experience with

working at airports. Construction is taking place at the same time as we are

operating an airport, and there are high demands toward traffic safety and that

capacity is not affected to any great degree. This makes it assuring to have

people who have been here before, and our experience with Veidekke is good,"

says Nic Nilsen, CEO of Oslo Lufthavn AS.

"Being chosen for jobs like this demonstrates confidence in us. Up here we have

extremely competent people who have extensive experience with demanding

conditions, such as working at a fully operative airport. Both parties have a

strong desire to involve the other party, because we know this is very

effective, so we are very much looking forward to getting started," says

Managing Director Dag Andresen of Veidekke Entreprenør.
