Varengold obtains the commercial banking license

Hamburg, 24th June 2013 - Varengold Wertpapierhandelsbank AG (WKN 547930),
founded in 1995, obtained the planned enlargement of license for conducting
banking business according to § 1 para. 1 Sentence 2 No. 1, 2, 5 and 8
(safe custody, credit business, deposit banking and guarantee business)
after applying for it to the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority
(BaFin) in August 2012. Within the conditions and possibilities of the
licensing by BaFin, Varengold will initially concentrate on international
commercial foreign business and lombard credits to extent the branch of
Capital-Markets-Brokerage.
With the license becomes effective, Varengold Wertpapierhandelsbank AG is
assigned to the Compensation Fund of German Banks according to § 32 para.
3a KWG. As decided at the shareholder's meeting from 08.08.2012, Varengold
Wertpapierhandelsbank AG encourages changing its name in 'Varengold Bank
AG' in all fields of business. The request for the appropriate record in
the Commercial Register has already been made.
