Hamburg, 11th December 2012 - The Supervisory Board and the Management
Board of Varengold Wertpapierhandelsbank AG (WKN 547930), a German
investment bank with an exclusive focus on asset management with managed
futures and capital markets brokerage, appointed Mr. Ole von Beust to the
company's advisory board with effect from 1st January 2013.
Ole von Beust was chairman of the parliamentary group of the CDU from 1993
until 2001. From 2001 to 2010 he acted as First Mayor in Hamburg. In 2007
and 2008 he also held the office as President of the Federal Council of
Germany. Among other things, Ole von Beust currently works as a lawyer in
Hamburg and will support Varengold Wertpapierhandelsbank AG in the areas of
public relations and general advice. He will be at the company's disposal
with its expert knowledge, experience and contacts and will give new ideas.
As to its future activity, Ole von Beust said: 'I am looking forward to
accompany the in Hamburg-based investment bank Varengold in its further
development. Especially for such a specialized house with high expertise
and flexibility a very interesting market subsists.'
