Provident Financial plc (the "Company") is delighted to announce the appointment of David Sear and John Straw to its board as independent non-executive directors with effect from 1 January 2017.

David is a proven financial services professional with a strong track record in digital transformation and customer engagement, in particular within the payment services sector.

David is currently the Chairman of Bango plc.

John is an experienced digital entrepreneur who has led and advised on critical digital transformations across a number of sectors, including at Thomas Cook Group PLC and Premier Farnell PLC.

There is no further information that is required to be disclosed pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.13R in relation to either David Sear or John Straw.

Additionally, and in accordance with Listing Rule 9.6.14R, the Company confirms the appointment of its Finance Director, Andrew Fisher, to the board of Arrow Global Group Plc as non-executive director with effect from 9 December 2016 and as chairman of the audit committee with effect from 25 January 2017.
