Timo Lappalainen Proposed as New Member for Vaisala's Board of Directors

Vaisala's shareholders representing more than 10 percent of all the votes in the
company have proposed Timo Lappalainen, President and CEO of Orion Corporation,
as new member of the Vaisala Board. The proposal will be presented at Vaisala's
Annual General Meeting held on March 24, 2011.

Timo Lappalainen (b. 1962), holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering. He
joined Orion in 1999 and has worked in several managerial positions in the
company before his current position of President and CEO. Timo Lappalainen's

Orion is a Finnish pharmaceutical company that develops, manufactures and
markets human and veterinary pharmaceuticals, active pharmaceutical ingredients
as well as diagnostic tests for the global market.
