Resignation of Director

VAALCO Energy, Inc. (NYSE: EGY, LSE: EGY), an independent energy company focused on development and production assets in West Africa, announces the resignation of Mr. William R. Thomas with immediate effect.

On April 26, 2020, Mr. William R. Thomas delivered notice that he is resigning from his positions as President and as a member of the Board of Directors (the "Board") of VAALCO Energy, Inc. (the "Company"), effective immediately. Mr. Thomas' resignation was not in connection with any disagreement with the Company on any matter relating to the Company's operations, policies or practices.

VAALCO, founded in 1985, is a Houston, USA based, independent energy company with production, development and exploration assets in the West African region.

The Company is an established operator within the region, holding a 31.1% working interest in the Etame Marin Block, located offshore Gabon, which to date has produced over 110 million barrels of crude oil and of which the Company is the operator.
