WABAG secures INR 1,000 Crore worth order in the Middle East

October 31, 2018: VA TECH WABAG ('WABAG'), a leading pure-play water technology Indian Multinational Group, has been awarded a major EPC order worth half a Billion Saudi Riyals from Power and Water Utility Company for Jubail and Yanbu (MARAFIQ), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today.

The scope of this Engineering, Design and Build contract is towards the expansion of Sewage Water Treatment Plant in Jubail. The plant will be designed using activated sludge process for carbon and nitrogen removal to treat the sewage water in accordance with the irrigation water quality standards as per Royal Commission Environmental Regulations 2015. MARAFIQ has planned to expand the plant upto a total capacity of 200 MLD in 2 phases, of which the present order win by WABAG pertains to Phase 1 with a capacity of 120 MLD.
During the contract signing ceremony held on 31st October, 2018 the President and CEO of MARAFIQ, Mr. Abdullah Al-Buainain expressed his confidence in providing world-class utility facilities to the new-wave of growth for the Saudi Vision 2030 industrial ventures.
Commenting on this order win, Mr. Deep Raj Saxena, CEO Middle East & Africa Cluster said, "Continuing our success in the Middle East region, this order is a major breakthrough for us in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with a prestigious client. We are extremely delighted with this second large order win of INR 1,000 Crore in immediate succession to our INR 555 Crore order win in Qatar.
