Uscom China Listed as National High Technology Enterprise by China

SYDNEY, Australia, Friday 4[th] December 2020: Uscom Limited (ASX code: UCM) (the Company or Uscom ) today notified the market that Uscom China was listed second as a National High Technology Enterprise by the Chinese Office of the Leading Group of National High Technology Enterprise Identification and Management in Beijing. The list was released by the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center (Torch High), a department of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of China. Torch High has a mission to advance innovation and advancement of High Technology industries in China.

High Technology Enterprises are entities identified for significant achievements in research and development (R&D), innovations, Intellectual property (IP) generation, and transformational outcomes in high technology fields. Listed enterprises are further encouraged to increase development of new IP and technologies, and new commercial activities in China.

These National High Technology Entities are of recognised national value and are offered preferential support by a number of State Departments including MOST, the Department of Finance and the State Administration of Taxation, to promote their growth. Such benefits include:

1. Tax exemption from 25% to 15%

2. Priority for Governmental tenders

3. Direct regional grants of 50k to over 1million RMB

4. Preferential terms for future offices and plants (cost exempt in some regions)

5. Facilitation of future funding raising and bank loans

6. Improvement of company recognition and talent attraction

7. Accelerated depreciation of fixed assets

8. Listing in China Growth Enterprise Markets.

Uscom has operated in China for over 15 years, and in 2018 opened its wholly owned Uscom China subsidiary in Beijing, appointing Ms Teresa Guo as General Manager. This year Uscom China has registered 12 Software Copyrights, 13 Trademarks, and 4 trademark Copyrights with the National Copyright Administration of the People’s Republic of China, protecting Uscom’s core technologies and algorithms in the Chinese market.

Uscom China is responsible for approximately two thirds of Uscom’s global sales, predominantly from its flagship USCOM 1A device. Uscom China is growing rapidly based on an expanded distribution network, continuous clinical training and direct customer service. Over the next 12 months five new products, BP+, and SpiroSonic Flo/Smart/Mobile/Air, are expected to receive Chinese regulatory approval (NMPA) and enter the market, with another two products, the USCOM Basic and O2, expected to follow within 24 months.

BP+ Reporter , an innovative stand alone software solution that provides a digital platform to archive patient examinations and images, trend measure progress over time, analyse pulse pressure waves and generate summary reports.

Uscom SpiroSonic digital multi-path ultrasonic spirometers : High fidelity, digital, pulmonary function testing devices based on multi path ultrasound technology. They require no calibration, are simple to disinfect, and are simple and accurate to use providing research quality pulmonary function testing in small hand held devices that can be used in research, clinical and home care environments. The devices can be coupled with mobile phone apps and proprietary SpiroSonic software, SpiroReporter , with wireless interfacing to provide remote telemonitoring of pulmonary disease. The devices are specialised for assessment of COPD, sleep disordered breathing, asthma, industrial lung disease and monitoring of pulmonary therapeutic compliance.

VENTITEST digital ultrasonic ventilator testing solution is a new system for testing ventilators. All ventilators require calibration to maintain the accuracy with which they measure the pressure, flow and volume of air they deliver. VENTITEST and VENTITEST-S, based on advanced SpiroSonic technology provides a testing solution that provides for simple and accurate testing, archiving, analysis and reporting to optimise ventilation performance.
