Texas Children’s Hospital Adopts USCOM Technology
Thursday 19th November 2009: Uscom (ASX code: UCM) today announced that the Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas purchased their first USCOM device for use in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The sale follows a four month assessment and evaluation process.
The Texas Children’s Hospital is an internationally recognised full-care paediatric hospital dedicated to providing the finest paediatric patient care, education and research. The Texas Children's Hospital is attended by 1,580 primary-care physicians, paediatric subspecialists, paediatric surgical subspecialists and dentists, with a nursing and support staff of more than 6,000.
Mr Paul Butler, the Uscom CEO said “The Texas Children’s is a world leader in adoption of practice changing technologies the purchase of their first USCOM is an important endorsement of our technology and continues the global adoption by leading paediaric Hospitals such as The Great Ormond St Hospital for Children and The University of Pittsburgh Medical Centre. While PICU has the greatest need, USCOM has additional paediatric applications in a number of other departments such as ED, Anaesthesia, cardiac surgery, dialysis and electrophysiology.”
