Item 8.01 Other Events.

On March 16, 2016, Unum Group (the “Company”) entered into a second amendment (the “Second Amendment”) to its credit agreement dated as of August 29, 2013 among the Company, the lenders named in the credit agreement, and Wells Fargo Bank, National Association, as administrative agent (the “Credit Facility”). The Second Amendment extends to March 16, 2021 the Company’s ability to borrow under the Credit Facility. A copy of the Second Amendment will be filed as an exhibit to the Company’s quarterly report on Form 10-Q for the first quarter of 2016.
