Item 8.01 Other Events

On July 1, 2013, Universal Electronics Inc. (“UEI”) issued a press release announcing it has filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Central District of California against Universal Remote Control, Inc. which is based in Harrison, New York, for patent infringement, seeking permanent injunction and monetary damages. A copy of the press release is furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this report.
