UNITED UTILITIES 2019 PRICE REVIEW UPDATE

On 13 December 2017, Ofwat published its final methodology for the 2019 price review (PR19) in which it sets out its expectations and requirements for companies preparing their business plans to meet the needs of customers from 2020 to 2025 and beyond. This represents a further evolution of Ofwat's Water 2020 framework and the PR19 methodology consultation published earlier this year.

United Utilities has been actively engaged in the development of this approach, contributing across the full range of working groups and providing detailed proposals in key areas. We support Ofwat in developing a progressive framework of regulation in the sector. We believe that our strong track record of operational performance and service delivery, leading environmental performance, innovative approaches to customer service, and recognised strengths in transparency and reporting provide a strong underpin for our business plan.

We are advanced in our plans for PR19, informed by extensive engagement with customers regarding their needs and priorities. In May 2018, we will provide early evidence on company specific factors affecting our wholesale and retail operations in the North West ahead of our final business plan submission in September 2018.
