United Utilities appoints Independent Non-Executive Director

United Utilities Group PLC announces the appointment of Liam Butterworth as a non-executive director with effect from 1 January 2022. On appointment, Liam will become a member of the Nomination Committee and the Audit Committee.

United Utilities' Chairman, Sir David Higgins said:  "As a serving CEO, Liam brings strong engineering and industrial technology experience to the board and his experience of managing performance will provide additional commercial focus as we embark on the 2025/30 regulatory price review process. Having grown up in the North West, he has a close affinity with our region and I am certain that Liam's career experience and skillsets will contribute to and enrich our board discussions."

Liam will also be appointed as a non-executive director of United Utilities Water Limited with effect from 1 January 2022.

There are no further details to disclose under paragraph 9.6.13 (1) to (6) of the Listing Rules in relation to Liam Butterworth.
