The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– UNITEDLABELS expects solid growth for 2003 – UNITEDLABELS forecasts a revenue increase of 6% in 2003 – Positive EBIT of EUR 1.0m for 2003 – Above-par result expected for 2002 (Münster, December 20, 2002) – UNITEDLABELS AG (DE 0005489561), Europe’s leading specialist for comicware sold under licence, is anticipating solid growth in 2003, while cost structures are expected to remain low. The company has forecast earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) of EUR 1.0 million, on sales of EUR 37.5 million. In particular, it is planning to penetrate new segments following the extension of its product range in the area of soft toys as well as the establishment of a range for babies. Based on the trend witnessed in the fourth quarter, UNITEDLABELS AG is expecting to generate sales of EUR 35.3 million (previous year: EUR 32.8 million) in 2002. According to preliminary results, earnings before interest and taxes will amount to approx. EUR 510,000. This corresponds to an improvement of EUR 9.5 million year on year (previous year: loss of EUR 9.0 million). Other expenses and staff costs have been lowered by 19.6% compared with the previous year.
