Subject: DTR 5.6.1 disclosure 

Pursuant to DTR 5.6.1 the Company announces that yesterday it issued 21,755,495 shares held in treasury at 79p per share.  These shares will rank pari passu with the existing ordinary shares in issue.    

The total number of ordinary shares in issue now stands at 1,238,794,000, and the total number of voting rights in the Company is 1,238,103,880.  This figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under the FCA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.

Following the issue, the Company will have 690,120 shares held in Treasury.
