Election of Thomas (Tom) C. Leppert

On March 7 , 2017, at the recommendation of the Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee, the Board of Directors of Tutor Perini Corporation (the “Company”) elected Thomas (Tom) C. Leppert as an independent director of the Company , effective immediately, with a term expiring at the 2017 annual meeting of shareholders. The Board also appointed Mr. Leppert to serve as a member of the Compensation Committee.

Mr. Leppert will be compensat ed similar to the other non-employee directors of the Company, as described in the Company’s most recent proxy statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on April 11, 2016.

Mr. Leppert , age 62, has over 30 years of leadership experience in both the private and public sectors , spanning a variety of roles including corporate CEO and elected political official. He served as the C hief E xecutive O fficer of Kaplan, Inc., a global multi-billion dollar educational services company , from 2014 to 2015, and as the Chief Operating Officer from 2013 to 2014. F rom 2007 to 2011 , he served as the mayor of Dallas, Texas. Prior to his public service, he served as C hairman and C hief E xecutive O fficer of The Turner Corporation, one of the nation’s largest general building companies ; V i ce C hairman of Pacific Century Financial Corporation and its major subsidiary, the Bank of Hawaii ; P resident and C hief E xecutive O fficer of Castle & Cooke Properties, Inc. ; and N ational P artner of Trammell Crow Company. Mr. Leppert began his career at McKinsey & Co. , where he was elected a P rincipal of the firm. Mr. Leppert is also a director of W.S. Atkins PLC , a publicly traded multinational engineering, design, planning, architectural design, project management and consulting services company .

Mr. Leppert holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Accounting from Claremont McKenna College and a Master of Business Administration with distinction from Harvard Business School .
