Turbon AG – First half of 2008 according to plan

Sales and earnings of the Turbon Group in the first half of 2008 were as
planned. Group sales of Euro 51.1 million for the first half of 2008 are
lower than those for the same period of 2007 (Euro 64.2 million), however,
they are in line with the budget as one-third of the decline is
currency-related and two-thirds are due to our concentration on core laser
cartridges and key customers. This facilitated our aggressive cost
reduction activities which have contributed to our earnings growth.
Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) were Euro 2.5 million (previous
year Euro 0.8 million), income from ordinary operations was Euro 1.7
million (previous year Euro -0.2 million) and consolidated net income was
Euro 1.2 million after being Euro -0.5 million in 2007. Earnings per share,
calculated on the basis of the average number of shares outstanding were
Euro 0.32 (previous year: Euro -0.14). We stand by our forecast of
aggregate sales of Euro 100 million for the whole of 2008. We shall
continue to respond to the ongoing pressure on prices by continuing to cut
costs. For this reason, our budget provides for positive earnings for the
next two quarters. The complete interim report for the first half of 2008
