Turbon AG english
Turbon – Successful start to 2002 fiscal year Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Turbon – Successful start to 2002 fiscal year The Turbon Group, leading manufacturer of compatible imaging supplies for computer printers, was successful in increasing both sales and earnings in the first quarter of 2002. Consolidated sales in the first three months of 2002 were Euro 40.0 million compared to Euro 38.5 million in the previous year. The increase in sales is due to the highly positive development in the sector of new technologies (non impact-products). Sales of these products rose in the first three months of 2002 by 16.2 percent. to Euro 26.4 million. Overall, non impact-products (laser cartridges, ink jet, TTR) accounted for 66.1% of sales (previous year 59.2%), impact-products (ink ribbon cartridges for dot matrix printers, etc.) for 30.2% (previous year 36.5%) and other products for 3.7% (previous year 4.3%) of sales. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) were Euro 2.6 million compared to Euro 2.5 million in the previous year. Income from ordinary operations was Euro 1.9 million compared to Euro 1.6 million in 2001. Consolidated net income rose to Euro 1.2 million. Compared to Euro 1.0 million in the previous year. Earnings per share as per IAS 33 were Euro 0.33 compared to Euro 0.26 in the first three months of 2001. The figures of the first quarter confirm the already published targets for the whole year 2002 (consolidated sales: Euro 155.0 million; consolidated net income: Euro 3.4 million). The proportional growth in consolidated sales for the first quarter was exceeded in April in particular as a result of the good US- sales. In case that the US-sales figures continue to develop as in April and the US-Dollar remains stable at a price of around 0.90 USD/Euro it should be possible to exceed the aforementioned sales and earnings targets for 2002. The full Interim Report for the first three months of 2002 can be requested from Turbon AG (Secretariat, Ruhrdeich 10, 45525 Hattingen).
