Die Tochtergesellschaft TTL International AG hat jetzt eine 13,6%ige Beteiligung an einer der führenden IT-Vertriebs- und Dienstleistungsgesellschaften in den USA, der BDI Distributors Inc., Atlanta, erworben. Es besteht eine Option für den Erwerb von zusätzlich 5%. Darüberhinaus ist ein Joint Venture zwischen TTL und BDI im wachsenden Markt des Internet Fulfillment in Deutschtand und später in Europa geplant. BDI hat zeitgleich die Laguna Corporation und deren Beteiligungen (Big City Express Corporation, CL Holdings Corporation, BLM Trucking Corporation) übernommen und damit seine Stellung als eine der bedeutendsten Internetfulfill- ment Companies in den USA ausbauen können. Im Rahmen des Verkaufs an E-Commerce Unternehmen, verbunden mit der gesamten erforderlichen Logistik, beliefert das Unternehmen u.a. Amazon.com, ValueAmerica.com, IQVC.com, Cendent.com, Shopping.com. Das in diesem Bereich beabsichtigte Joint Venture mit TTL soll für beide Partner neue Vertriebswege in Deutschland und Europa erschließen und dem erwarteten starken Wachstum im E-Commerce Rechnung tragen. Wichtige weitere Marktsegmente von BDI/Laguna sind : Rent to own: Belieferung von Leasinggesellschaften für das Anmieten von Computerequipment durch Privatkunden. In diesem Markt besteht ein Exclusivvertriebsrecht für den Verkauf von Packard-Bell. Im Versandhandel ist größter exklusiver Kunde CompuCard. Nach einem Umsatz von 115 Mio. USD in 1999 plant BDI für das Jahr 2000 einen Umsatz von 225 Mio. USD und ein EBIT von 17 Mio. USD. Für die zweite Hälfte 2000 ist der Börsengang geplant, über den die weitere Expansion auch international vorangetrieben werden soll. München, den 13. In this market, the company has exclusive rights for selling Packard-Bell. In mail order trading, the biggest exclusive account is CompuCard. In 1999, BDI reported sales of 115 million USD. With sales in 2000 of 225 million USD and a EBIT of 17 million USD, BDI is planning an IPO for the second half of 2000, designed to progress further expansion on the international stage as well.
