Alexander van der Lof, CEO TKH: "The markets in which TKH operates have shown solid growth, with a strong contribution from innovations. TKH's strategy focuses on trends that enable above average growth. The first quarter of 2008 clearly confirmed this. The outsourcing trend within the industrial sector as well as the growing demand for a safer environment are important drivers of TKH's growth."

Developments in the first quarter

In the first quarter 2008 turnover increased by 29.0%, of which 7.0% was organic. The rest of the turnover growth was attributable to the companies acquired in 2007, CAE, Transmea, NET, SecurityWorks and Pantaflex.

As announced at the annual results 2007, TKH started reporting in three main segments as from 1 January 2008: Telecom, Building and Industrial Solutions. All three segments showed healthy growth. Within Telecom Solutions the increase in turnover was mainly attributable to the increased demand for fibre network systems in Europe. Furthermore, CAE contributed significantly to the growth.

Within Building Solutions there was a strong growth of the security and connectivity solutions. The well-filled order book in the building and construction sector also contributed to this segment's growth.

Growth within Industrial Solutions was positively impacted by the outsourcing trend in the industrial sector. This resulted in growth in turnover and order book for both the connectivity systems and the manufacturing systems, including the tire manufacturing systems.

As of 2008 TKH's ROS and ROCE ratio's will be based on EBITA (instead of EBIT). ROS improved to 7.9% in the first quarter 2008 from 6.5% in the first quarter 2007. ROS improved in all three segments Telecom, Building and Industrial Solutions.

EBITA increased with 56.1% to € 20.1 million. All segments increased substantially, with the strongest increase in Building Solutions. Operating result (EBIT) was up 46.1% to € 18.6 million in the first quarter (Q1 2007: € 12.7 million).

Net profit rose by 41.6% to € 11.5 million. The tax burden decreased to 28.0% (Q1 2007: 31.1%), mainly as a result of the lower tax burden in Germany as of 1 January 2008.

At the annual results announcement in March 2008, TKH stated it expects growth in turnover and results for 2008. As usual, TKH will give a more concrete outlook for the full year at the half-year results announcement in August 2008.
