Thales communique

Il est créé une Direction Transformation des Opérations, rattachée au Président-directeur général de Thales.

Sa mission est d'animer un programme d'évolution en profondeur des méthodes de travail, avec l'objectif d'améliorer à moyen terme les performances opérationnelles des différentes activités du Groupe, en tenant compte de leurs spécificités. Cette nouvelle Direction englobe la Direction des Opérations et la Direction de l'Ingénierie.

M. François Quentin est nommé Directeur, Transformation des Opérations.

M. Jean-Paul Lepeytre est nommé Conseiller auprès du Président, en particulier pour la maîtrise des risques liés aux offres et contrats majeurs.

François Quentin est diplômé de l'Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications. Il a rejoint le Groupe en 1977, occupant diverses fonctions dans le domaine des communications et des systèmes de contrôle. De 1989 à 1992, il a dirigé l'unité réseaux de communication fixes. Il a ensuite été président-directeur général de la filiale Auxilec (de 1992 à 1999), avant d'être nommé directeur général adjoint puis directeur général (en 2000) de Sextant (devenu Thales Avionics). En 2002, il est devenu directeur du Business Group Avionics Systems. De 2004 à 2009, il était en charge de la Division Aéronautique de Thales.

Jean-Paul Lepeytre est diplômé de l'École Supérieure d'Optique. Il a rejoint le Groupe en 1972 où il a travaillé dans le domaine de l'optronique. En 1985, il a été nommé directeur du programme français d'armement guidé par laser. Il a pris ensuite la direction des activités Electronic Missiles (de 1987 à 1989) avant de rejoindre Sextant en tant que directeur de la division Visualisation et interface homme-machine. Il est devenu ensuite directeur de la division Avionique civile de Sextant (1993) puis directeur de Sextant (1996). Il a dirigé Thales Information Systems (1999-2004) avant d'être nommé directeur général de l'activité Services, en 2004, puis Deputy Director, Solutions de Sécurité & Services en 2007. Depuis 2008, il était en charge des Opérations de Thales.

Thales communicates

A new Department Transformation of Operations is created, assigned to the Chairman and CEO of Thales.

Its mission will be to lead an in depth programme of change to working methods with the objective of improving in the medium term, operational performances of the different activities of the Group taking into account their specific characteristics. This new department will incorporate Operations and Engineering.

Mr François Quentin is appointed Senior Vice President, Transformation of Operations.

Mr Jean-Paul Lepeytre is appointed Senior Vice President, Advisor to the Chairman and CEO, with particular responsibility for the control of risks of major bids and programmes.

François Quentin is a graduate of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications engineering school. He joined the company in 1977, holding a series of positions for Communications and Command Systems. From 1989 to 1992, he was head of the Fixed Communication Networks business unit. He was then Chairman and CEO of the subsidiary Auxilec (1992 to 1999) until appointed Senior EVP and then CEO (in 2000) of Sextant (which became Thales Avionics). In 2002, he went on to become Managing Director of the Avionics Systems Business Group. From 2004 to 2009, he was SVP of Thales, in charge of the Aerospace Division.

Jean-Paul Lepeytre is a graduate of École Supérieure d'Optique. He joined the company in 1972, working in the field of optronics. In 1985, he was appointed Director of the French Laser-Guided Armament programme. He then became Director of Electronic Missiles (1987 to 1989) before joining Sextant as Director of the Visualisation and Man-Machine Interface division. He went on to become Director of the Civil Avionics division of Sextant (1993) and Director of Sextant (1996). He headed Thales Information Systems (1999-2004), before being appointed SVP, Services, in 2004 and SVP, Deputy Director, Security Solutions & Services in 2007. Since 2008, he was SVP of Thales, in charge of Operations.
