PRESS RELEASE May 6 REGULATED INFORMATION

ACTIVITIES IN THE 1ST QUARTER

The activities of the TEXAF group in the DRC have developed as follows over the course of the 1st quarter:

  • Rents for the REAL ESTATE branch (rental of residential properties and office space in Kinshasa) totalled EUR 5.4 million for the quarter, an increase of 16% compared with the comparable period in 2021. This is the result of both the almost complete absorption of the vacancies caused by the sanitary measures in 2020 and the rental of all 33 new flats delivered between May and July 2021 (Bois Nobles Phase II). The construction of the group's two largest residential and office projects continues. These include a 94-apartment complex (Promenade des Artistes) and an 11,500 m2 building with offices, meeting rooms and common areas for the digital sector (Silikin Village Phase III).
  • CARRIGRES (sandstone quarry in Kinshasa). Turnover for the first quarter of 2022 was EUR 0.8 million, an increase of 80% compared to the same period in 2021. Indeed, in the first quarter of 2021, production was almost at a standstill due to the difficulty of obtaining spare parts for the loading and transport vehicles.

Silikin Village

SILIKIN VILLAGE. The enthusiasm generated, both in the DRC and abroad, by the commissioning in 2020 and 2021 of the first buildings (2,700 m2) of the SILIKIN VILLAGE entrepreneurial and digital hub is such that many start-ups and companies have confirmed their interest in phase 3 of the project, which will offer almost 11,500 m2 of additional space in 2023. Various training activities (Kinshasa Digital Academy, Institute of Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Safety, Play & Code Academy), incubation (K-Impact) and acceleration (Orange Prize for Social Entrepreneurship, Citypreneurs) are offered to the ecosystem.

TEXAF, established in 1925, is the only listed company with all its activities in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Currently, these are concentrated on property, quarries and the digital domain. This listing on the stock exchange and the resulting obligations in terms of good governance and transparency constitute a major asset of the Group for its development and for the promotion of the formal sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
