TEVA ANNOUNCES GLOBAL IN-MARKET THIRD QUARTER SALES OF COPAXONE® INCREASED 15% TO $354 MILLION

Jerusalem, Israel, October 31, 2006 – Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Nasdaq: TEVA) announced today, in conjunction with the release of the Sanofi-Aventis group’s financial results, that global in-market sales of Copaxone® in the third quarter of 2006 grew by 15% as compared to the third quarter of 2005 and reached a record of $354 million.

According to IMS, in the US Copaxone® continues to outpace the market growth strengthening its leadership position with TRx and NRx shares increasing to 34% and 35.2% respectively, as of September 2006. U.S. sales in the third quarter of 2006 increased 10% over the third quarter of 2005 to $226 million.

Outside the U.S., mainly in Europe, Copaxone® is the fastest growing multiple sclerosis therapy with growth of 26% over the third quarter of 2005, reaching sales of $128M.

טבע מודיעה, בהמשך לפרסום התוצאות הכספיות של Sanofi-Aventis, כי המכירות הגלובליות של קופקסון® במונחי מכירה לשוק, ברבעון השלישי של 2006, עלו ב- 15% והסתכמו בשיא של 354 מיליון $.

מכירות הקופקסון® בארה"ב, ברבעון השלישי של 2006, גדלו ב- 10% לעומת הרבעון המקביל ב-2005 והסתכמו ב- 226 מיליון $. לפי נתוני IMS בארה"ב, קופקסון® המשיך להיות המוביל בשוק עם נתח שוק של 34% מסך כל המרשמים בארה"ב (TRx) ו- 35.2% במונחי מרשמים חדשים (NRx) בחודש ספטמבר 2006.

מחוץ לארה"ב, בעיקר באירופה, קופקסון® ממשיך להיות המוצר הגדול באופן המהיר ביותר בשוק הטרשת הנפוצה עם גידול של 26% לעומת הרבעון המקביל אשתקד ועם מכירות אשר מסתכמות ב-128 מיליון $.
