Visionstream secures $90 million contract for Telstra remediation - Victoria and Tasmania

Visionstream Australia Pty Ltd (Visionstream), a wholly owned subsidiary of Leighton Contractors, today announced a contract with Telstra worth approximately $90 million for the provision of services as part of Telstra’s infrastructure deployment for the National Broadband Network (NBN).

Visionstream will perform remediation activities on Telstra’s pit and pipe infrastructure in Victoria and Tasmania, repairing and restoring assets to ensure operational readiness for fibre network installation.

Allan Bradford, General Manager, Visionstream said ‘We are very pleased to be awarded this substantial contract with Telstra. Having been a long term partner with Telstra, Visionstream is ideally placed to assist Telstra deliver its commitment to NBN Co. We understand the importance of getting these works done and the impact it has on the overall success of the new network.”

The contract is worth approximately $90 million over three years with two options for yearly renewals taking the potential value of the contract to $210 million.

This latest contract complements Visionstream’s current NBN contracts to build NBN’s Transit Network, Tasmanian passive fibre, New Developments and the construction of the fixed wireless network.

The remediation work under this contract is set to commence within days, with teams mobilised and ready.
