Chairman’s Address

Annual General Meeting

Melbourne (Australia) – 22 May 2019 . Telix Pharmaceuticals Limited (ASX.TLX, “Telix”), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of diagnostic and therapeutic products based on “molecularly-targeted radiation” (MTR), is pleased to provide the Chairman’s Address to the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders being held today at 10.30am, at The Larwill Studio, 48 Flemington Road, North Melbourne.

CHAIRMAN’S ADDRESS

In the relatively short period of time since Telix was listed on the ASX, the Company has made remarkable progress in its strategic and operational plans.

Over the past 12 months, the Company has been largely focused on the manufacturing and release of clinical drug product, engagement with the global medical community on our programs, and obtaining the requisite regulatory approvals to enable the commencement of our multiple clinical trials.

Telix is currently clinically active in 17 countries around the world, from Australia to Europe, to the US and Japan. Regulatory and ethics approvals have been achieved across multiple jurisdictions for both the glioblastoma therapy and kidney cancer imaging cancer programs. Screening and recruitment is underway and first patients have been enrolled. The Telix team remain focussed on timely recruitment into these studies.

Telix was also a commercially active company in the last 12 months with the announcement of multiple agreements and partnerships across all of our program areas with leading firms in the biopharmaceutical, nuclear medicine and radiology fields. This trend is expected to continue in the coming months as the Company’s product development pipeline has attracted considerable attention, particularly from “big pharma”, which has an increasingly active interest in the field of nuclear medicine.

We are driven for success in 2019, and we recognise that high quality data and timely execution of clinical trials will underpin Telix’s ongoing growth and success and this remains the focus of both the management and the Board. Telix also continues to engage in M&A activity with two important acquisitions completed last year. The acquisitions of Atlab and ANMI, both subjects of resolutions at today’s meeting, significantly contribute to the Company’s intellectual property portfolio and global commercial reach.

  • We are also in the process of transitioning to becoming a revenue generating business, a distinctive accomplishment for a small-cap ASX biotech company. Commercial success will be delivered through the development and commercial sale of Telix’s prostate imaging product, as well as through key commercial relationships with leading distribution companies around the globe. The Company has already demonstrated early traction through the sale of the prostate cancer imaging product – branded as illumet[TM] in the United States – as an investigational product to over a hundred tertiary-referral cancer centres in a dozen countries.

However, although our mission is global, the importance of Australia to the Company’s progress cannot be understated. Telix conducts vital research and clinical work at some of our best cancer centres, such as the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Centre, Macquarie University and Royal North Shore Hospital, to name but a few key sites. Our product platforms also continue to develop through technology in-licensing from

Australian academic institutions, which have a particularly strong research track-record in our field.

A development-stage company like Telix is able to thrive here in Australia because of the excellence of the industrial climate. In particular, I note the importance of clinical and manufacturing partners such as a GenesisCare and Cyclotek, and the world-class isotope supply chain provided by the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO). These are organisations, both private and public sector, that deliver important products and services to cancer patients every day.

Finally, the contributory role of home-grown innovation to Telix’s rapid development is also underpinned by the various support mechanisms that are vital to development-stage biotechnology companies, including grant incentives for industry-academia partnerships and the R&D tax credit scheme.

The Federal R&D credit scheme has been vitally important in enabling Telix to aggressively pursue clinical trials and research partnerships with tax credit funds.

Telix’s mission remains straight forward. We have a pipeline of drugs to treat prostate cancer, renal cancer and glioblastoma. We have come a long way in a short time, and on behalf of the Board, we look forward to keeping you appraised of plans and milestone achievement this year and beyond.

In closing I would like to thank my colleagues on the board for their enthusiasm and support of the Company and its business.

I thank Dr Behrenbruch for his tireless efforts to progress the clinical programs and promoting a global awareness of the Company’s activities. I also congratulate him on his success in establishing multiple commercial partnerships for Telix in the past 12 months.

On behalf of the Board I thank the management team who are working to exceed expectations as they deliver against the company’s corporative and strategic objectives.

Lastly I thank you, our shareholders, for your support of the company in its first full year since listing and for your ongoing commitment to Telix’s mission to help patients with cancer live longer with a better quality of life.
