Teck Announces Elkview Strike Notice

Vancouver, BC - Teck Resources Limited (“Teck”, TSX: TCK.A and TCK.B, NYSE: TCK) announced today that the United Steelworkers, Local 9346 served strike notice at its Elkview Operations located in southeast British Columbia. The strike notice entitles the members of the bargaining unit to commence strike action on January 30. Teck remains committed to negotiating a new collective agreement. The previous labour agreement at the mine expired on October 31, 2010.
