Birdstep signs EasyConnect Advanced agreement with Virgin Media
(Oslo, August 13, 2010) Birdstep Technology ASA has
signed agreement for EasyConnect Advanced with Virgin
Media.
Birdstep Technology, a leading provider of wireless
connectivity and security software, has signed an
agreement for EasyConnect Advanced with Virgin Media
for its mobile broadband product in the UK. Birdstep
estimates the revenue to amount to 2 million NOK in 24
months. With almost 10 million customers, Virgin Media
is the UK's first quad-play provider of broadband, TV,
phone and mobile services.
EasyConnect Advanced will be customized for Virgin
Media, pre-installed on USB mobile broadband devices
for pre-paid solutions and sold through Virgin Media's
direct and indirect sales channel.
EasyConnect Advanced is an advanced and customizable
connection management software solution for
installation on USB devices, providing users with an
improved mobile broadband user experience.
Virgin Media is one of the largest residential
broadband providers in the UK. With around four
million fibre optic cable broadband subscribers,
combined with a high speed ADSL service and mobile
broadband products, Virgin Media is able to offer
broadband services throughout the UK.
Birdstep has amended its IR policy regarding contract
awards in EasyConnect and will, to the extent
possible, provide an estimate on contract value.
