Oil drops $2 on Covid rise in Asia, inflation fears

OILPRICES DROPPED over $2 a barrel on Wednesday on renewed demand concerns as coronavirus cases in Asia rise and on fears rising inflation might lead the US Federal Reserve to raise interest rates, which could limit economic growth.
Prices fell even though US data showed a smaller-thanexpected build in crude inventories and a bigger-thanexpected decline in gasoline stockpiles.
Brent futures fell $2.62, or 3.8%, to $66.09 a barrel by 11:15 am EDT (1515 GMT). It settled 1.1% lower on Tuesday after briefly climbing to a 10week high over $70 during the session.
US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude fell $2.73, or 4.2%, to $$62.76$ . Earlier in the day WTI was down over 5%.

Similarly, rapeseed meal exports rose to 11.13 lakh tonne from 9.61 lakh tonne, while the shipment of rice bran extension rose to 5.76 lakh tonne from 2.36 lakh tonne in the said period.
"India exported a record quantity of 5.76 lakh tonne of rice bran extraction during $2020-21$ , thanks to new demand from Bangladesh due to failure of their rice crop," SEA said. However, export of castor seed meal fell to 4.19 lakh tonne in 2020-21 from 5.38 lakh tonne in the previous year, the SEA data showed.

Sebi fines Biocon, its designated person ₹14 lakh

SEBI ON WEDNESDAY imposed a total fine of $\overline{514}$ lakh on Biocon and its designated person for violation of market norms.
Designated person of the firm, Narendra Chirmule, who was employed with the company as senior vice president-R&D, is facing a fine of ₹5 lakh for trading in the company's securities when the trading window was closed. By doing so, he violated provisions of Prohibition of Insider Trading norms. Sebi noted that trading window was closed by the compliance officer of Biocon from January $1-26$ , 2019 on account of declaration of quarterly financial results of the company for the quarter ended December 31, 2018, which were announced on January

have raised concerns over rising prices of fertilisers, and have sought help from the government ahead of the upcoming sowing season as prices have increased by ₹600-700 per bag, higher by 55% compared to the previous month.
Official at the agriculture department said prices in the domestic market have gone up as phosphatic and potassic (P&K) fertilisers have become dearer in the international market.
According to senior industry people, chemical fertilisers are rarely produced in India. Most of the raw materials have to be imported and only readymade fertilisers like DAP are imported. Potash is not avail-
dan and Canada. The DAP fertilizer of IFFCO is now priced at $\overline{\xi}$ 1,900 per
bag. The previous price was ₹1,300 per bag. Similarly, the price of NPK 10-26-26 has gone up from $\bar{\tau}$ 1,100 per bag to $\bar{x}$ 1,500 per bag and prices of NPK 12-32-16 have risen to ₹1,850 per bag from ₹1,250 per bag.
Maharashtra agriculture minister Dadaji Bhuse said the state had written to the Centre to reduce prices. Notably, the Centre recently said it was considering subsidies to offset rise in global prices of raw materials of P&K fertilisers in a bid to ensure their availability to farmers at subsidised rates across the country.

తీ|వంగా ఉందో అర్థం చేసుకోవచ్చు. గతంలో కరోనా వైరస్ చిన్నపిల్లలపై స్రభావం తక్కువగా ఉండేది. అయితే మ్యుటేషన్ల తర్వాత వ్యాపించిన రెండో దశలో మాత్రం అది చిన్నారులను కూడా వదిలిపెట్టడం లేదు. దీంతో పాటు కేసులు అమాంతం పెరిగిపోవటం, నగరాలు, పట్టణాల్లో ఎక్కువగా పేద, మధ్యతరగతి |పజలు ఒక|టెండు చిన్న గదుల్హో నివాసం ఉంటున్నారు. ఈ పరిస్థితుల్లో బయటికి తిరిగి వస్తున్న పెద్ద వారు పిల్లలకు దూరంగా ఉండటం చెప్పినంత సులభం కాదని అంటున్నారు. సెకెండ్ వేవ్లో వైరస్ (పభావం పిల్లలపై అధికంగా ఉంటుందని డాక్టర్లు చెబుతు న్నారు. ఈ ఏడాది జనవరి నుంచి వచ్చిన కేసుల్తో 11 శాతం కేసులు 20 ఏండ్ల లోపువారే ఉన్నట్లు అధికారిక గణాంకాలే చెబుతున్నాయి. దేశవ్యాప్తంగా ఆయా రాౖష్టాల్లోనూ ఇదే రకంగా పరిస్థితి ఉండ గా, రాష్ట్రంలోనూ ఏ[ప్రీల్ రెండవ వారం నుంచి చిన్నారుల్లో వ్యాధి లక్షణాలు అధికమవుతున్నట్టు గుర్తించారు. ఏ[పిల్ ఒకటి నుంచి 15 వరకు కరోనా బాధితుల్లో ఈ వయస్సు వారు 264 మంది ఉండగా, అదే ఏ(పిల్ 16 నుంచి 30 వరకు 15 రోజుల్లో ఏకంగా 2131 మందికి పెరగడం గమనారం మే నెలలో గత ఇప్పటి వరకు 1700 మంది వరకు ఉండగా మొత్తంగా నెలస్నర కాలంలో 2936 మంది చిన్నారులకు వైరస్ బారిన పడటం ఆందోళనకరం.
(పభుత్వాలు ఏం చేస్తున్నాయి?
మధ్యస్థ, సీరియస్ లక్షణాలున్న వారిని మాత్రమే ఆస్పత్రుల్లో తీసుకో వాలని ఇప్పటికే రాడ్లో ప్రభుత్వం (పయి వేటు ఆస్పత్రులకు ఆదేశాలు జారీ చేసిన సంగతి తెలిసిందే. అదే సమయంలో కరోనా సోకి లక్షణాలు లేని, స్వల్ప లక్షణా లున్న వారికి హెూం ఐసోలేషన్ బెస్ట్ అంటూ డాక్టర్లు సైతం సలహాలిస్తున్నారు. అయితే అప్పటికీ కోవిడ్–19 బారిన పడ కుండా ఉన్న తమ చిన్నారుల వద్దకు వెళ్ల కుండా ఇరుకు గదుల్హోనే కొనసాగాల్సి వస్తున్నది. కరోనాతో తల్లిదండులు మర ణించటంతో అనాథలుగా మారిన చిన్నా రుల సంరక్షణ బాధ్యతను మహిళా, శిశు సంక్షేమశాఖ చేపట్టింది. కొంత మేరకు స్వచ్ఛంద సంస్థలు, మానవతావాదుల సహాయంతో కుటుంబాలు నెట్టకొస్తు న్నా. ద్రభుత్వం కరోనా బారిన పడకుండా పిల్లలను రక్షించేందుకు పటిష్టమైన చర్యలు తీసుకోవాల్సిన అవరం ఉంది.
