TASMAN TARGETS GOLD PROSPECT
WITH NEW DRILLING PROGRAM IN SA
Tasman Resources NL (ASX Code 'TAS') is expanding the search area for epithermal gold in a new drilling program at its Parkinson Dam prospect, west of Port Augusta, in South Australia.
Tasman announced today that recent field work had identified new areas of interest for epithermal gold and silver that would be added to a drilling program commencing in July.
"Tasman's latest field work has revealed outcropping mineralisation containing up to 1.0 grams per tonne of gold and 15 g/t of silver which extends the area of interest at Parkinson Dam," Tasman Executive Chairman, Mr Greg Solomon, said todav.
"The new drilling program will also target positions to the west, east, north and down-dip of the mineralisation that was discovered in an initial drilling program in December 2005," he said.
Tasman's previous drilling program at Parkinson Dam, which was constrained by limitations of the drill rig and contractor obligations elsewhere, discovered epithermal gold-silver mineralisation of 3 metres at 3.4 g/t gold, 80 g/t silver; and 21 metres at 0.4g/t gold. 7g/t silver and 96 metres at 0.2% lead.
Epithermal gold and silver deposits are particularly attractive as they can contain very high grades.
Mr Solomon said the renewed drilling program, of (23 holes), would also target uranium mineralisation.
"The field programme has also located outcropping uranium mineralisation (as fine-grained uraninite) located close to an important regional unconformity or geological contact. This mineralisation was first found by uranium explorer PNC in the mid-1980's, who recognised the uranium potential of the area, but did not test drill this occurrence.

"Tasman has also just completed a detailed aeromagnetic/radiometric survey over the main area of interest within the project area and results are being interpreted. The magnetic data will provide key geological input into the project, whilst the radiometric data will also assist in highlighting potential uranium targets.
"A large calcrete sampling programme in both new areas and also following up previously identified anomalies in more detail is currently in progress. Results are expected in early June," he said.
