TASMAN OUTLINES NEW SEPTEMBER EXPLORATION

DRILLING FOR KEY S.A. MINERAL PROJECTS

A new drilling programme will commence next month to test the gold, lead, uranium and zinc potential of some of the more remote areas of South Australia.

Tasman Resources NL (ASX code 'TAS') said today the schedule would include a new 2700 metre RC percussion drilling programme on its wholly owned and promising epithermal gold and silver target at Parkinson Dam, just 60 kilometres west of Port Augusta.

Some 20 holes will be drilled, with first results due by late in October.

Tasman's previous drilling programme at Parkinson Dam, which was constrained by limitations of the drill rig and contractor obligations elsewhere. discovered epithermal gold-silver mineralisation of 3 metres at 3.4 g/t gold, 80 g/t silver; and 21 metres at 0.4g/t gold, 7g/t silver and 96 metres at 0.2% lead.

"Epithermal gold and silver deposits are particularly attractive as they can contain very high grades," Tasman's Executive Chairman, Mr Greg Solomon, said today.

A programme of diamond drilling would also test for higher grade extensions to a lead-zinc mineralised zone intersected at Parkinson Dam.

Additionally at Parkinson Dam, an area containing outcropping uranium mineralisation, identified through aerial surveys, will be tested with RC drilling.

Other targets will drilled across the Gawler Craton and in the far north.

These include 3000 metres of RC percussion drilling of strongly gold anomalous targets at Eyre, 85 kilometres north of Tarcoola; and the Skye and Birdie Prospects, 95 kilometres southwest of Coober Pedy.

Over 3000 metres of Rotary Air Blast drilling will be undertaken at the potential nickel hosting new ultramafic belt within the Sturt Prospect, 85 kilometres northwest of Tarcoola.

"Calcrete soil sampling has returned anomalous Ni assays up to 311ppm, over a magnetic high and we are keen to evolve this target further and rapidly." Mr Solomon said.

The Sturt prospect lies at the margin of the Fowler Domain which Mr Solomon says, has been postulated by PIRSA to occur in a similar geological setting to the Thomson Nickel belt in Canada.

"This is an exciting programme for us and will capitalise on the encouraging initial work completed in 2005 and early 2006 across these blocks."
