Tarkett acquires the Polish company Gamrat, strengthening its vinyl flooring activities in Central Europe

Paris-Nanterre, April 30th, 2014

Tarkett, a global leader in flooring and sports surfaces solutions, announces today the closing of the acquisition of 100% of Gamrat Flooring, a Poland-based company, specialized in high performance vinyl flooring mainly for professional applications.

Thanks to this acquisition, Tarkett strengthens its activities in the added-value and growing segments, such as healthcare, aged care and education, predominantly in countries across Central Europe and especially in Poland where Gamrat Flooring already holds recognized positions. Based on Gamrat's manufacturing footprint and expertise in Poland, Tarkett will also increase its vinyl production capacity, as well as reinforce its competitiveness.

Gamrat Flooring (Gamrat Wykladziny Sp. Zo.o) has generated profitable growth over the past three years and operates a highly performing flooring plant in Jaslo (Southeastern Poland). In 2013, this flooring activity, at that time part of Gamrat S.A., had net sales of approximately 20 million euros and employed about 220 people. The transaction includes the production as well as the distribution activities of the existing product ranges.

"This bolt-on acquisition is aligned with Tarkett's external growth strategy, in particular by consolidating the very fragmented flooring market. It will strengthen Tarkett's leadership in manufacturing and selling high performance vinyl flooring in Central Europe. The customers will benefit from Tarkett's advanced technology combined with Gamrat Flooring's excellent service and recognized offering." explains Michel Giannuzzi, CEO of Tarkett.
