Talisman Mining Ltd (ASX: TLM) advises that Mr Peter Langworthy will step down as the Company’s Technical Director effective immediately to enable him to step back from corporate activities and spend more time with his family.

Mr Langworthy has been working on a part-time basis with Talisman for the past six months following the appointment of well-respected geologist Mr Graeme Cameron as General Manager Exploration.

Mr Cameron will now lead the Company’s exploration team as it transitions from a reconnaissance exploration phase to a systematic targeting phase during 2012 at its flagship Springfield Copper-Gold Project in Western Australia.

Talisman’s Managing Director, Mr Gary Lethridge, said Mr Langworthy had made an invaluable contribution to the Company since its restructuring and repositioning as a focused copper-gold explorer operating in WA’s Bryah Basin.

“Peter has built a formidable team of mining and exploration professionals at Talisman who are very well placed to continue to execute the Company’s strategy and drive its growth into the future,” Mr Lethridge said.

“During his time at Talisman, Peter led a focused exploration effort at Springfield as well as fulfilling a business development role, with the acquisition of several key exploration assets in the Bryah Basin.

“On behalf of the Board, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Peter for his contribution and wish him and his family well for the future.

“Talisman has in place the resources to support continued aggressive exploration both at its copper-gold and emerging gold and IOCG exploration assets in WA,” Mr Lethridge added. “We are looking forward to a very busy and productive year in 2012 as we move to the next key stage of exploration at Springfield.”
