Appointment of Non-Executive Director

Synthomer plc ('Synthomer' or 'the Company') today announces that it has appointed Caroline Johnstone as a Non-Executive Director. Caroline will join the Board with immediate effect and succeed Jez Maiden as Chair of the Audit Committee at Synthomer's Annual General Meeting on 30th April 2015. As previously announced, Jez will stand down from the Board after the Annual General Meeeting after 8 years as a Non-Executive Director.

Caroline, a Chartered Accountant, joined PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1981. As a partner from 1995 until 2009, she worked extensively with large global organisations on turnaround strategy, mergers and acquisitions and cost reduction programmes.

Caroline is currently Deputy Chair, Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit Committee of Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust, an independent member of the Audit Committee of the Crown Prosecution Service, England and Wales and a member of the governing Council of the University of Leeds.  She continues to work with international businesses focusing on cost culture programmes.

There are no further matters to be disclosed under LR9.6.13R of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority.
