Item 8.01 Other Events.

On October 24, 2017, Synlogic, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has granted Orphan Drug Designation to SYNB1618, the Company’s preclinical-stage drug candidate for the treatment of phenylketonuria, an inborn error of metabolism caused by a mutation in the gene that breaks down the amino acid phenylalanine. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
