Synectics plc (AIM: SNX), a leader in the design, integration, control and management of advanced surveillance technology and networked security systems, announces that Dennis Bate CBE has informed the Company of his decision to retire as a non-executive director, with effect from the conclusion of the Company's Annual General Meeting to be held on 26 April 2018.  Mr Bate joined the Board in 2005 following a distinguished career in the construction industry.

David Coghlan, Chairman of Synectics, commented:

"I am sorry that Dennis will be leaving the board of Synectics.  He has consistently provided us with wise and experienced counsel, and has on numerous occasions contributed value to the Company through his wide range of contacts, mentoring of our senior managers and understanding of the needs of prospective Synectics' customers in his sector of expertise.  On behalf of the Board, I pass on our most warm and sincere thanks for his many contributions and wish him well in future.
