SWECO ACQUIRES WATER AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANCY IN POLAND

Sweco has acquired the Polish consultancy Hydroprojekt Kraków with 35 employees. The acquisition is a first step in Sweco's establishment in Poland.

Hydroprojekt Kraków has more than 50 years of experience in providing qualified consulting engineering services for hydraulic engineering and water resource management. Sweco has previously collaborated with Hydroprojekt Kraków, which has an excellent reputation on the Polish consultancy market.

"Poland is perhaps one of the most interesting countries in Eastern Europe, with a healthy macroeconomy and strong anticipated growth in the environmental, infrastructure and energy segments. The acquisition of Hydroprojekt Kraków is a strategically important step and the start of a more large-scale establishment in the country," says Mats Wäppling, President and CEO of Sweco.

Hydroprojekt Kraków will be part of Sweco's Central and Eastern Europe business unit.

Sweco is an international consulting group with combined expertise in engineering, environmental technology and architecture. Sweco has 5,200 employees in 11 countries and recorded annual sales of more than SEK 5.5 billion in 2008. The company has projects currently underway in some 80 countries worldwide. Sweco is listed on NASDAQ OMX Stockholm AB.
