SUSS MicroTec AG: Acquisition of HamaTech APE GmbH & Co. KG

Munich, Germany, December 7, 2009 - SUSS MicroTec AG (business address:
Schleissheimer Strasse 90, 85748 Garching, Germany; ISIN: DE0007226706),
which is listed in the Prime Standard of Deutsche Börse AG, today announced
its intention to acquire HamaTech APE GmbH & Co. KG, a wholly owned
subsidiary of Singulus Technologies AG.

A corresponding term sheet was signed by both parties on December 6. As
part of the acquisition, SUSS MicroTec also plans to purchase the HamaTech
APE production facility in Sternenfels, Germany, and take over the
company's international subsidiaries.

Both parties have initially agreed to maintain confidentiality regarding
the details of the transaction so as not to jeopardize the ongoing contract
negotiations, which are set to conclude in the 2009 fiscal year.

HamaTech APE has established itself in the semiconductor industry as the
leading global supplier of equipment for cleaning photo masks. It employs
approximately 80 people at its Sternenfels site and its international
subsidiaries.

With the acquisition, the SUSS MicroTec Group is expanding its existing
Coater/Developer product portfolio. HamaTech APE's highly innovative
cleaning technology ideally complements SUSS MicroTec's core competency for
critical processes in semiconductor production. The Company intends to
extend the Sternenfels site into their competence center for wet
processing.
